Creating Wealth - A Call for Financial Literacy

Generally, financial literacy is not something that is taught in schools or colleges. Yet, everyone uses money and therefore needs to have a certain level of financial to avoid the many financial pitfalls that exist. And this week, the Editor of the City A.M., Allister Heath, suggested that London's top banks should each make "an immediate and very large donation to a special new educational fund for financial literacy".

It's not the first time that he has made this recommendation. And, Allister Heath's suggestion goes beyond just the large banks. He believes that big insurance companies and wealth managers should become involved as well. It's a splendid idea that many people endorse. It remains to see though, whether or not the big financial institutions will have the foresight to actually put this idea into action.

Allister Heath is calling for an education campaign for children as well as adults to help them better understand personal finance. While nations pay attention to literacy levels, i.e. the ability to read and write, the same level of attention isn't paid to financial literacy.

Recently, the self-made millionaire Eben Pagan asked the following two questions:

Question #1: Where did money come from and why was it created?
Question #2: How does money and the money system actually work?

And the fact is that most people would not be able to provide a comprehensive answer to these simple questions. Relatively few people truly understand the nature of our monetary system - how it came into being, how it has evolved over the years and what the resulting changes really mean to their personal finances. Relatively few people are therefore equipped with the level of knowledge and comprehension that will help them to consistently make sound financial decisions.

There's a plethora of financial products available on the market and throughout your life people, even on a daily basis, you have to make a multitude of financial decisions – some seemingly simple and others more complicated - each of which will, nonetheless, either make you richer or poorer.

It was Albert Einstein who said that:

"Problems cannot be solved by the same level of thinking that created them."

There is currently a global recession and while many people are thriving, there are many facing severe financial challenges. Many of the tactics currently being applied to the economic situation are failing because they are tactics derived from 'old thinking' and also lazy thinking. What is needed is a fresh approach and to achieve this we need to elevate our thinking.

We also need an action plan that everyone can enthusiastically 'buy' into and one that creates a win-win situation for all involved. For instance, regarding the financial literacy campaign, one idea that has been proposed is to set up a new voluntary system of financial exams. Individuals passing these exams would be offered easier access to credit and possibly lower interest rates as they would be regarded as a 'safer' investment, i.e. less likely to default.

Whatever your views on implementing a financial literacy campaign, one thing is certain - the better you understand money the better you can use money to your advantage. The better you understand finance and our monetary system the faster and easier you'll be able to grow your wealth regardless of what the economy is doing.

FREE Book Provides the Road Map for You to Achieve A Life of Freedom Getting Paid For Who You Are

Many people dream of living a life doing what they love. David Wood's new book "Get Paid For Who You Are™: 5 steps to Financial Freedom, Time Freedom, Location Freedom, and Inner Freedom" actually provides a roadmap that can help you achieve this goal. And, for a limited time, you can download this book absolutely FREE.

Yes, David Wood is giving his book away because he's aiming to raise funds $100,000 for charity. Thus far he has raised $43,303 for the Rainforest Foundation and A Computer for Every Child. You see when you claim your free copy of David's book you have the option to make a charitable donation but it's not compulsory, it's just an option.

Please don't make the mistake of undervaluing this book because it's free. David Wood has used the concepts and strategies described in his book to lead a life where he can travel the world doing the stuff he enjoys and take months off at a time when it suits him. It's a lifestyle that many aspire to achieve.

The book itself has received high praise from many individuals who are regarded as experts in their field and the New York Times bestselling author of "The Success Principles" and co-author of "The Chicken Soup for the Soul®" Jack Canfield, wrote the foreword for this book. In his foreword he acknowledges that we are currently experiencing a challenging economy but he urges people to "play a bigger game" rather than become overwhelmed by circumstances.

In other words, it's time to bring on your "A" game and this book can certainly help you to develop this. And the Internet provides an ideal playing field where you can show off your prowess.

Joel Comm, bestselling author of "The Adsense Code" said:

"Everyone is an authority in some field or another, including you. The Internet has levelled the playing field so that anyone working from home (or the beach) can share their life experiences with the world and get paid for it. David makes this a no-brainer with a very clear road map that is easy and fun to follow. Enjoy the journey!"

Jack Canfield also said:

"This book is a call. A call to express. To give, influence, receive, play. To engage."

So...

~ What do you have a burning desire to express that you're not currently expressing?

~ What do you wish you could give that you're currently not giving?

~ Who or what do you wish to influence that you're currently not influencing?

~ What do you wish to receive that you're currently not receiving?

~ Where do you want to play that you're currently not playing?

~ With whom do you wish to engage that you're currently not engaging?

Bear the answers to these questions in mind as you read David Wood's book see how you can apply its practical wisdom to radically transform your life.

Broaden Your Skill Set to Achieve Greater Success, Part 2 of 2

If you missed the first part of this article click the link below:

Broaden Your Skill Set to Achieve Greater Success, Part 1 of 2

In order to broaden your skill set it's also important that you are open to learning and that when knowledge is available to you that you study it and put it into action. Many people buy books, DVDs, courses and some never even open them far less read the content. Some people acquire certain books just so they can have an impressive-looking library and while some people are well-read they never seem to get to the stage where they actually apply their knowledge.

And the conclusion to the story I started to relate in Part 1 of this article illustrates this very point.

The health crisis Caroline Myss' brother experienced reached a stage where his wife felt she could no longer stand idly. Together with Caroline she stormed into the psychiatrist's office where the wife threw the bag of drugs onto the floor saying:

"You're going to tell me how this is healing my husband."

Meanwhile, Caroline Myss was taking in the psychiatrist's office and was taken aback when she noticed a familiar book on bookshelf.

The book was called "Anatomy of the Spirit: The Seven Stages of Power and Healing".

Now, in addition to outrage she also felt a sense of surrealism. Her eyes kept darting from the psychiatrist to the bookshelf as though she couldn't quite comprehend what she was seeing.

Then she walked over to the bookshelf, pulled the book off the shelf and then walked back towards the psychiatrist where she thrust it under her nose.

"I wrote this book," she declared whereupon the psychiatrist replied eagerly:

"Would you autograph it for me?"

Personally, I find it hard to believe that the psychiatrist had even read this book. How could someone read this book and not understand that some 'illnesses' cannot be healed by pills?

But perhaps she had read the book but didn't have the skills to put this knowledge into action. That's fine because the reading of one book does not make you an expert but one would hope that she would be willing to recognise her limitations in this area and seek to expand her knowledge and skill set so that she could better serve those who sought her expertise.

So examine the areas of your life where you'd like to experience growth. Ask yourself what are skills you need in order to grow and become successful in this area. Ask yourself how you can acquire these skills, then set about to learn this skills and put them into action. Unless you do the latter step you really haven't properly learnt your new skills.

And when you do broaden your skill set you'll find that your whole world will expand, you'll have a richer experience of life and achieve greater success.

Caroline Myss is one of 24 experts in the field of human potential who will be part of a special teleseminar series called "Tools to Reclaim Your Power". Broaden Your Skill Set to Achieve Greater Success, Part 1 of 2

The depth and range of your skills will help to determine how well you deal with the challenges you face in life. This doesn't mean that you should strive to be a jack of all trades. It's often better to delegate or outsource certain tasks but even delegating and outsourcing are skills you have to learn how to do effectively. Therefore to achieve greater success in your personal as well as professional life you need to broaden your skill set.

Another reason you need to broaden your skill set is to keep pace with our rapidly changing world. The world is evolving at a dizzying pace and, if you're not flexible enough to evolve with it, you'll simply get left behind.

People often erroneously think that more successful people have fewer problems to deal with. This is not necessarily the case. In fact, they often have more and bigger problems to deal with but, to their advantage they generally have a bigger skill set with which to deal with any problems that they encounter. So while in some cases they may have more resources to apply to a particular problem, because they have a broader skill set they are also more resourceful.

However, here's a story that acutely demonstrates how injurious failing to broaden your skill set can be.

Caroline Myss opened one of her keynote speeches with, what was very clearly a painful and personal story about her younger brother. At the time, she had just learnt that he was receiving treatment for drug withdrawal. In case you may be thinking that he was a drug addict let me hasten to tell you that he was not - at least not in the conventional sense.

Her brother sought the help of a psychiatrist to help him overcome an anxiety problem he was experiencing. The psychiatrist prescribed medication and following other subsequent monthly 15-minute consultations continued to prescribe more and more drugs for this man who was supposed to be in her care. The situation reached a climax when he was taking 17 different drugs a day, twice a day.

You don't need a medical degree to deduce that instead of getting better both the mental and physical health of this individual declined rapidly and drastically. And, sadly, you may know of similar stories for this is far too prevalent in our society today.

The irksome thing is that this man didn't even need drugs in the first place. He needed, for want of a better term, coaching. With skilful coaching he could have worked through the issues he was facing. It might have been a painful experience but it could have been made exciting and liberating. And I'm not talking about a process that stretches on for months or even years - we've come too far for that type of approach where, instead of healing people simply end up wallowing in their pain.

This psychiatrist decided to treat this man's symptoms by numbing them and then, when that didn't work, she simply prescribed more and more drugs to numb other symptoms and counteract the side effects that the initial drugs were causing.

She had one primary tool and she used it relentlessly. For as Abraham Maslow said:

"If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail."

This story is extreme. In fact, I find it disturbing but it does demonstrate the critical importance of broadening your skill set.

But this story doesn't end here. I'll share the conclusion in Part 2. Meanwhile, do take advantage of the following...

47 Hearts - Discover How to Live Your Dream Life While Giving Children The Chance to Simply Live

On 14th February 2010, Dr Mani Sivasubramanian a heart surgeon and infopreneur will be launching his second printed book called:

"47 Hearts: How to Live the Life of Your Dreams and Reach Your Goals with Passion, Purpose and Persistence"

And you can download a digital version of this book for FREE, read it from beginning to end, and then if you are so moved purchase the physical book and or make a donation to Dr Mani's Children's Heart Foundation.

I've never met Dr Mani but I know of his annual fundraising events. And when I read 47 Hearts I could feel his selflessness, compassion and love. He is completely open in sharing his journey from being inspired as a child to become a surgeon to becoming a surgeon and using his skills to save young lives.

And as he recounts his story he shares the lessons he's learnt along the way that can help you turn your heart's desire into reality.

It's a beautiful book that I urge you to at least read even if you do not go on to support the cause but I issue you a warning. You cannot read this book and not be changed by it. So read this book at your own risk.

Dr Mani's mission is to use his skills as a surgeon to repair the hearts of babies and young children to improve their health and possibly even save their lives. And he uses his skills as a writer and infopreneur to help facilitate his desire to heal children suffering with congenital heart disease.

Thus far 47 operations have been sponsored and it is his aim to have 47 more operations sponsored this year. A later target is 47 operations a month, then 47 operations in a week and so on.

In my last post about the $92K Mission I mentioned that even although I thought the goal was worthy, I didn't think it was a stretch for the individual concerned. Dr Mani himself acknowledges that his more ambitious goals are a stretch but it's a stretch he willingly to make and one he eagerly embraces.

Each operation costs about $2,500. The State Government provides a subsidy of 50% leaving Dr Mani's Children's Heart Foundation needing to raise $1,250 for each operation.

So if a group of 47 individuals were able to contribute a $1 per day towards this cause they could fund an operation a month thus saving 12 young lives a year. It then only needs 47 such teams to achieve the target of 47 hearts healed every month.

I can hear Les Brown's voice echoing in my head...

"It's possible."

I'm sure that you, like me, probably have your own special causes that you regularly donate to. And it's not possible to support every cause there is but if what you've read here has touched your heart in some way I urge you to give Dr Mani your support.

You don't even have to make a monetary donation, although of course that would be most beneficial. Simply share this message with at least 47 other individuals.

Achieving Success and Planning or the Lack Thereof

I have a confession to make. As a Fitness Instructor I rarely plan my classes. I plan elements of my classes, for instance the music I want to use, the equipment, the orientation of the class, the approximate amount of time spent doing each component of the class but I don't plan the entire class. Unless I'm teaching a class such as a circuit class or personal training session I rarely structure the entire content of my classes.

Don't get me wrong. This does not mean that I don't have an idea of what I want to do and what I want to accomplish in my classes. However, I've found that I need to be very flexible. There are so many factors that influence what I actually teach and how I teach it, for instance the temperature of the room, the numbers of participants, the skills level of the participants, their level of fitness, the types of injuries and or special conditions participants may have and so on.

There are many times when I've abandoned even my rudimentary plan for one that is better suited to the various elements I'm presented with.

My years of training and experience, together with my creativity, my degree of focus in the teaching environment gives me this level of flexibility and confidence to work in this manner. And the reason I'm sharing this with you is that Business Optimization Strategist has just released a new report titled:

"Planning: Are You Planning To Win By Failing To Plan?"

Intriguing title isn't it?

Planning certainly works in some situations but not in others. So what do you need instead of a plan? To discover the answer to this question you'll just have to read the report.

And you can download this report by visiting the URL below. No opt-in is required so simply click on the link below:

http://Planning.StrategiesForAchievingSuccess.com

This Planning Report will also shed light on one of the reasons why when a group of individuals are given what is known as a tried and tested, proven plan to follow that individual results are inconsistent. Some may achieve outstanding success while others may fail dismally.

Achieving Success - Are You Risk Averse?

Many people sabotage their chances of achieving success by being risk averse.

When we are young we tend to be much more adventurous. Often this is because we don't appreciate the risk associated with our actions. For instance, one evening I saw a father walking along with his two young daughters. It had snowed recently and along the pavement the snow had partially melted making the pavement slippery – much to the delight of the young girl. She was running along and gleefully skidding along the slippery snow quite oblivious to the possibility that she might fall.

Her father, however, was none too pleased. He yelled at her and told her stop upon which her exuberance vanished. To be fair her father, laden with heavy shopping looked weary and you can imagine that the last thing he wanted was for his daughter to fall and get herself all wet and dirty and possibly hurt herself.

You can probably remember similar occasions yourself where you were having fun and an adult yelled at you to stop and literally put a damper on your spirits. Now, don't get me wrong, the risk to the little girl was very real. I usually walk very briskly but I had reduced my stride to small, cautious steps especially after almost falling backwards at one point when the grip I was expecting as I stepped was severely lacking. However, it takes a skilful communicator to be able to alert someone of potential danger without destroying their sense of adventure.

And what happens is that after several such incidences a child may find that when it comes to other situations where physical danger may not even be an issue, they seem incapable of taking a risk. And without positive intervention they may go through life being ultra-cautious and, as a consequence, achieving nothing of any real significance because they are afraid of taking a risk.

For instance, you may be in a job that you hate yet you don't even look for other opportunities far less apply for them. With every successive year that goes by it becomes more and more difficult to prise yourself from your position. What's more, because you're not in a position for which you are ideally suited then you're not as enthusiastic about your work and your performance is sub-par.

And, because you're afraid to take a risk and move onto to something more fulfilling, you remain in your present role even though deep inside you actually fear being replaced or simply being made redundant.

Hopefully, this example does not apply to you but I'd be willing to bet that you know of someone to whom this does apply because, sadly, this is not an infrequent occurrence.

And even, if this particular situation doesn't pertain to you, I'm also willing to bet that there is an area in your life where you are risk averse, where you are not playing out full. In fact, you may be holding back from getting into the game at all. You may be sitting on the bench watching the other players in action all because you're afraid of taking a fall or perhaps getting hurt.

There will always be risks in life. However, to be too risk averse will mean that you will reduce your chances of enjoying many of the rich rewards that life has to offer.

"The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing, and becomes nothing. He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he simply cannot learn and feel and change and grow and love and live."
Leo F. Buscaglia

Learn How to Enhance Your Self-Esteem and Super-charge Your Self-Confidence

The extent of your self-esteem and self-confidence will either make or break you and Oprah Winfrey asked an interesting question regarding self-esteem.

"Are we all born with innate self-esteem that erodes over time or is self-esteem something we were supposed to pick up along the way?"

I believe that we are born with innate self-esteem but our environment affects whether we build our self-esteem or tear it down.

The trouble is that you are not even aware of the many of the factors and incidents that influence, shape and build or destroy your self-esteem and self-confidence as many occur during childhood. And a lot of damage can occur during this period and this damage can persist through to adulthood when you may become more analytical of your behaviour and more critical of your results.

You may find that despite your best efforts your results do not meet your expectations. And, superficially, there can be several practical reasons for this but when you delve deep enough you'll generally find that, somewhere along the line there are issues regarding your self-esteem and self-confidence.

When you address these issues you naturally become more and when you become more you're able to do more because you have greater belief in your abilities and you therefore achieve more. Increasing your self-esteem and self-confidence puts you in a more expansive state.

So while a degree of self-esteem may be encoded into your being from birth, as with everything, if you don't work to enhance your self-esteem it will erode over time. The most successful individuals will all tell you that they have worked on improving their self-esteem and when they did their life and their results improved dramatically.

So here are three simple ways to enhance your self-esteem and super-charge your self-confidence:

1. Change Your Physiology
Or more simply put – change your physical state. Some people practice being as small as possible. You get the feeling sometimes that if they could make themselves invisible they would. It's like when you watch a performance by a dance company. You often find that your eyes are riveted on a particular dancer because they have that something extra, that special presence that has nothing whatsoever to do with their dance technique.

So stand taller, hold your head up high, expand your shoulders, breath more fully and walk with a spring in your stride. You'll immediately start to feel better about yourself because by changing your physical state you'll positively alter your biochemical state as well.

2. Change Your Self-Talk
Business Optimization Expert, Stephen Pierce said that the foundation to all success is a combination of your self-talk, self-esteem and self-image. It's one thing for a person to speak to you in a derogatory manner. It's quite another when that person is you as Rob Bremer said:

"If you had a friend who talked to you like you sometimes talk to yourself, would you continue to hang around with that person?"

Now you can't get away from you and so to improve your self-esteem, it's imperative that you improve your self-talk. You know you feel better when someone speaks to you in a positive and encouraging manner and so do yourself a favour and speak to yourself in this manner whether or not things are going your way.

Stephen Pierce said in the early days of his own personal transformation he used to shout out "Cancel" whenever he found himself thinking a negative thought. You can adopt your own method of interrupting the pattern of your negative thinking.

3. Stare Fear in the Face
You can either live a life of fear where you're afraid to try anything new and afraid to go after your goals and dreams because you fear that you will not be successful. Or you can stare fear in the face and do the thing you think you cannot.

"You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face... You must do the thing you think you cannot do."
Eleanor Roosevelt

You can start out by doing small things and gradually work your way up to doing things which are more challenging. Or you can do something of greater magnitude. The thing is that each time you overcome your fear, when you face fear on another occasion it becomes easier to overcome because, within your memory bank you'll have lots of experiences to refer to.

And each time you do this you'll be giving your self-esteem a boost.

Goal Achievement: To Achieve Your Goals You Need A Big Enough Why

Goal achievement is tough - make no doubt about it. As soon as you set yourself a challenging goal obstacles will present themselves. And, if you don't have a big enough why they will stop you dead in your tracks and you'll abandon your goal. However, if you have a big enough why the obstacles you face will not matter. You'll find a way to power past them.

For a great example of this let's go back to 1973 and an epic tennis match - Bobby Riggs vs. Billie Jean King. This wasn't an epic match in the same vein as the Rafael Nadal vs. Roger Federer 2008 Wimbledon final in terms of the length of the match and the number of games played, etc. It was an epic match because of what it signified.

Back in the seventies there was a stark inequality between women's and men's tennis. Bobby Riggs was himself a tennis champion but he was also a self-proclaimed male chauvinist. He was of the view that women were the weaker sex and inferior athletes.

On Mother's Day in 1973 he added fuel to his claims by beating Margaret Court. Upon winning he immediately sought to claim another scalp by challenging the then 29 year old Billie Jean King to a match. Even though Bobby Riggs was 55 and at the end of his career he boasted that his masculinity gave him the advantage and that he would be able to vanquish Billie Jean King.

The build-up to this tennis match was reminiscent of the build-up to a boxing duel. The boasts of the challenger and the media hype were such that the match became known as "The Battle of the Sexes".

Billie Jean King was disgruntled by the fact that sportswomen were paid so poorly compared to their male counterparts. She accepted the match to prove that women were not the weaker sex. And, especially after Margaret Court's defeat, losing simply wasn't an option. It would have been disastrous for the women's rights movement. She said:

"I thought it would set us back 50 years if I didn't win that match. It would ruin the women's tour and affect all women's self esteem."

This was a match that captured the imagination of the country as well as tennis enthusiasts. The matched was played on 20 September at the Astrodome Court in Huston in front of a capacity crowd of 30,472 people - at that time the largest audience for a live tennis match. The match also received prime time coverage for an estimated 50 million viewers.

And viewers didn't just witness one of the most significant tennis matches of all time, they saw a grand spectacle as well. Billie Jean King was carried on a red velvet litter carried by hunky University of Houston football players in short togas. Bobby Riggs, on the other hand, as befitting his character, entered the stadium in a carriage pulled by women dressed in sexy outfits. However, once the pageantry was over it was down to business.

Bobby Riggs tried his best to fend off Billie Jean King but she won emphatically in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, 6-3. Riggs who thought he had both the mental and physical advantage was proved wrong on both counts:

"It was mainly a case of overconfidence on my part. I overestimated myself. I underestimated Billie Jean's ability to meet the pressure. I let her pick the surface and the ball because I figured it wouldn't make a difference, that she would beat herself."

And, it's ironic that despite Billie Jean King's many accomplishments (she won six Wimbledon singles championships, four U.S. Open titles and was ranked No. 1 in the world five years) she is perhaps best remembered for the manner in which she despatched Bobby Riggs.

On that September day back in 1973, she wasn't just playing for her own glory she was playing for women the world over.

Neil Amdur wrote in The New York Times:

"Most important perhaps for women everywhere, she convinced skeptics that a female athlete can survive pressure-filled situations and that men are as susceptible to nerves as women."

And with this victory Billie Jean King achieved another goal as well. In 1973, the US Open became the first major tournament to offer equal prize money for men and women.

So what's your why? What is it that will make you stretch and go beyond your former limits? Find that powerful why and you'll simply amaze yourself with the goals you're able to achieve.

Goal Setting: Money is Secondary When it Comes to Goal Setting

Many people set goals to do something once they have the money. This is entirely the wrong way to go about goal setting. You don't need the money for something until you decide to do it. Therefore, putting something off until you have the money means that you're highly unlikely to achieve that particular goal.

What many people fail to understand is that you don't need to know how you will get the money to do what you desire. Your job is to express your desire and start working towards achieving your goal. When you do this the Universe will recognise that you are committed to achieving your goal and will work to help bring manifest it.

"Follow your bliss and the Universe will open doors for you where there were only walls."
Joseph Campbell

In addition, when you wait until you have sufficient money for a certain endeavour you are actually cutting off sources of income that could potentially come your way. Sarah Ban Breathnach, author of "Simple Abundance" said:

"Whatever we are waiting for - peace of mind, contentment, grace, the inner awareness of simple abundance - it will surely come to us, but only when we are ready to receive it with an open and grateful heart."

While she didn't specifically mention money, know that this applies to money as well. And all too often we unconsciously repel money through our thoughts and actions.

Now, I'm not saying that you should not save money for your goal. For instance, suppose you want to take a vacation. Then decide when you would like to take the vacation and by all means start saving for it even if the amount you can put towards this goal is small. When the Universe puts the Law of Attraction to work opportunities and circumstances will come your way that you would not even have imagined possible. You just have to have faith that what you want is possible and that it can happen.

So, as well as saving what you can for your trip, otherwise prepare for it. Identify the things you will need for your trip and the steps you will need to take just before leaving. The Universe can work quite rapidly as well and you need to be ready to act when the opportunity arises.

If you need a passport for this particular trip, make sure your passport is up-to-date. If you need a visa, find out what you need to do to get one and have everything in order so that you can apply for a visa at a moment's notice if necessary.

Pack your suitcase. Yes, pack your suitcase. Generally, the things you travel with are not the things you use on a day-to-day basis. I keep a suitcase packed, including toiletries, so I can be ready to travel at short notice.

Also, don't be concerned that what you desire is not something you actually need. Life is not just about getting your needs met. How can anyone live a rich and fulfilling life that way? Both your needs and your wants are important. After getting your needs met, it is the journey you take in acquiring your wants that will further develop you as a person.

I read a story recently of how a young man had a burning desire to relocate to Hawaii. He was interviewed by a company that was expanding and needed someone to be based in Hawaii. He didn't get the position. It went instead to a colleague of his who he discovered didn't want to relocate and so he contacted the company.

As he suspected, his colleague had turned down the position. What's more the company was now desperate to have someone on location. He had been interviewed. He was qualified for the job and he was prepared to relocate.

"When can you start?" they asked.

"Immediately," he replied without a moment's hesitation and the next day he was on a plane to Hawaii.

I've used a trip as an example but this relates to anything. And I know of similar examples and you probably do too. These individuals are not lucky. They were prepared.

So remember, you don't need the money for your goal until you commit yourself to achieving your goal. So don't hold back in your goal setting. Decide what you want and then start taking steps to prepare yourself for acquisition of your goal no matter how absurd it may seem to others – not that you have to tell anybody.

Don't wait until you have the money, the money is secondary. Go after your goals!

And remember:

"If you make the unconditional commitment to reach your most important goals, if the strength of your decision is sufficient, you will find the way and the power to achieve your goals."
Robert Conklin

FREE Report Reveals the Single Reason Why People Do Not Achieve the Level of Success they Desire

If you're currently finding that success in life is either fleeting or elusive then this Special Report is perfect for you.

Perhaps you're currently experiencing financial difficulties, problems with your health or even relationship problems.

You may have tried all sorts of things to alleviate your financial problems. You may have discovered how to earn more money. You may have consolidated your debts. You may even have had an unexpected windfall. Yet, despite your best efforts which included educating yourself about how to earn more money you keep finding yourself back in the position where you have more month than money.

Regarding your health, you may want to lose weight and get into better shape. You try diet after diet. You sweat it out at the gym. And you may even succeed for a while and you proudly display your new svelte figure but months later the pounds pile on again. You feel baffled, frustrated and ashamed. What will it take to lose the weight and keep it off?

You may want a loving, nurturing relationship. You even been bold enough to try dating agencies but somehow the relationships you form all turn sour. You agonise that you spend the rest of your life alone.

The thing is, whatever problem you're experiencing right now the problem itself is just a symptom. It's an effect of a deeper underlying problem. And if the symptoms keep reoccurring then it's a sign that most of what you've been doing has been addressing the symptoms and not dealing with the root cause of your symptoms.

Throughout the ages, prominent individuals from all walks of life have understood this including the famous chiropractor Dr Thurman Fleet; psychologist and plastic surgeon, Dr Maxwell Maltz; entrepreneur and billionaire businessman Bill Bartmann; and personal development expert and world-renowned speaker Bob Proctor. In fact, all Bob Proctor's LifeSuccess programs incorporate this underlying principle.

And now, in a simple, 17-page Special Report written by my colleague, Song Chengxiang, you too can discover the ROOT CAUSE of most people's 'failings'. What's more he provides a simple, step-by-step solution to resolve this problem.

And the solution he provides really is simple and not just in theory. It's very simple to apply as well.

The best thing of all is that when you resolve this one, key, fundamental issue it will have a domino effect on your entire life. Everything in your life will change for the better.

So here's the link to download your copy of this amazing report.

Please don't think that because this Special Report is FREE that the information it contains is not of value or is a waste of time. That would be a gross mistake. You can spend hundreds and thousands of dollars on expensive courses and seminars but if you don't understand and apply the information contained in this report that money will be wasted.

Achieving Success - How to Stay Focused on Just One Opportunity

One of the keys to achieving success is focus and in particular staying focused on just one particular opportunity until it works.

However, maintaining your focus, especially in today's environment, is a real challenge. If you're like the average person you are no doubt literally inundated with opportunities every single day. It's like being a kid in a candy store. When faced with so many tantalising opportunities it's so easy to flit from one thing to another. The problem with this approach is that you find that time months and maybe even years elapse and there's no evidence of real progress.

So just how do you stay focused on one and only one opportunity? Here are 5 tips to achieve this goal:

1. Know Your Why

First of all you need to define your why. In other words what's your end goal? What do you want to accomplish? And why do you want to accomplish this particular goal? You must have a very powerful why. It must be absolutely clear in your mind and remain the centre of your focus as you carry out your daily activities.

Pain is a strong motivator. So your why should be such that not achieving your goal will be particularly painful. And your desire to avoid this pain will be powerful enough to help you break through any fears you may have regarding achieving success in your chosen endeavor.

2. Identify Your Strengths

Knowing and playing to your strengths is vital component in goal achievement. When you play to your strengths you maximize your chances of success and you also achieve success faster and easier. And success breeds success. The other consideration with playing to your strengths is that certain opportunities will be an excellent complement to your strengths and others will not. The later situation could be a clear case of an opportunity you should perhaps forego.

3. Establish Clear Criteria for Assessing Opportunities

Now while generally you should focus on one opportunity and be successful at that before moving on to another there will be opportunities that come along that will compliment and enhance what you're currently doing. So it's useful to develop a checklist to help you assess opportunities that come your way. This will give you a systematic, objective, no-sense approach to of dealing with the multitude of opportunities that cross your path.

4. Identify Your Key Mentors and Coaches

There's a wealth of great information out there and there's also a lot of information that's of poor quality, outdated and inaccurate. Fortunately, once you've been around for a while you discover who you can trust. So it's important to establish a core group of individuals who you know you can definitely trust. Once you've done this, to further improve your focus, unsubscribe from all other mailing lists so that you don't get distracted. You can re-subscribe later on once you've achieving success becomes a habit rather than simply trying out new ideas.

5. Have an Accountability Partner

Having an accountability partner can be a huge benefit. This person needs to be tough and someone who will not tolerate your excuses. Remember, though that you can negotiate exactly what you want to be held accountable for. It can often be an added advantage if that person is accountable to you as well as this can give that added incentive for you both to carry out what you agree to do by maintaining your focus on just one opportunity.

Once you achieved success in one area you'll find it easy to duplicate that success in either the same area or perhaps a different area.

Another way to stay focused on just one opportunity is to have a challenge and a deadline to heighten your competitive spirit and motivate you to pull the stops out to achieve your goals and achieve massive success. FREE Award-Winning Book - "Work the System" by Sam Carpenter - For You

"Work the System: The Simple Mechanics of Making More and Working Less" by Sam Carpenter was published in May, 2009. And here's how you can get a copy of this book FREE!

But first, here's a little about the author. Sam Carpenter describes himself as an ordinary man but he has extraordinary character. He has experienced tremendous lows in his life and he has also experienced tremendous highs.

He has been a garbage collector. He has scrubbed toilets. He has flipped hamburgers. He has been a journalist in some of the most dangerous parts of the world and he has managed four corporations simultaneously.

So, yes, he knows a thing or two about life and about business management.

But for the first 50 years of his life and, as hinted at with his mixed bag of jobs, there was a lack of flow. His life was chaotic and unfulfilling.

For 15 years he worked 80-100 hour work weeks in a small business he acquired. Yet, during this time his personal income never exceeded $60,000.

For much of that time he was also a single parent to his son and daughter. To say that times were hard is an understatement.

Then he had a moment of absolute clarity. He saw his life and business from a new perspective and this empowered him to shift to a two-hour work week and dramatically increase his income. If, like most people, you're thinking that it would be great just to achieve Timothy Ferriss' Four-Hour Work Week this certainly shifts the goal post.

"Work the System" can be considered as a distillation of the knowledge Sam Carpenter has accumulated and the lessons he has learnt during his remarkable life.

The book is about transforming a life of long work hours and financial scarcity into a life of freedom and wealth. Now doesn't that sound like music to your ears?

Sam Carpenter describes his story and the simple epiphany he experienced and, from this new vantage point, how he was able to easily see the new actions he must take to find freedom, wealth and peace. And, in doing so, he transformed not just his work and financial condition, but also his health and relationships.

This life-changing book won the New York Book Festival’s award for "Best Non-fiction Book of 2009".

And best of all I've arranged for you to receive a digital (PDF) version of this book for FREE. This book normally retails on Amazon and other major book stores for $22.95.

To receive your free copy, simply send an email to:

pdf@workthesystem.com

with the code "skyline" in the subject line.

If you know of someone who would benefit from this gift then please email them a copy of this post.

I do hope you gain enormous value from this book and do come back and share your feedback.

FREE Cash In A Flash Seminar DVD and Book - Learn How to Make Fast Money in Slow Times

"Cash in a Flash™: Fast Money in Slow Times" is the latest book to be released by the best-selling authors Mark Victor Hansen and Robert G Allen. And, to celebrate the launch of this book the authors are giving away 5,000 copies of this book plus a DVD of the Cash in a Flash™ seminar.

Individuals paid $5,000 to attend the live event but, if you're fast enough, you can get the DVD for this seminar to watch at your convenience, the accompanying book and other fabulous bonus gifts valued at $10,000.

This book is not only a sequel to the best-selling "The One Minute Millionaire"; it's also a response to the many cries for help from individuals who are struggling during the current economic crisis.

However, despite the title, it's important to note that this book is not about a get-rich-quick scheme. Both Mark Victor Hansen and Robert G Allen are vastly experienced in teaching individuals how to create wealth and they both know what it's like to be down on your luck financially. So this book is designed to help individuals create extra streams of income fast using tried and tested strategies.

What's more "Cash in a Flash™" is designed to teach individuals how to tap into their natural way of making money so that earning extra income becomes easy rather than an uphill battle. Robert G Allen said that too many people are making hard work of earning money and that instead of sprinting for the cash many people are operate in such a way that "a 100-yard dash becomes a 26-mile marathon". And for some, coping during these tough economic times, feels like the 135-mile Badwater ultramarathon - the world's toughest foot race.

Hundreds of thousands have seen the myth of a secure 9-5 job exploded. It's never been more apparent that relying on a single stream of income, particularly linear income, where you are basically exchanging your time for money is highly risky. So the Cash in a Flash™ System teaches how individuals can earn residual income where you effectively do the work once but get paid multiple times.

The foundation of "Cash in a Flash™" is how to develop the right mindset to shatter existing limiting beliefs and paradigms that keep people stuck in poverty. However, along with the theory it also provides individuals with practical steps to start making money fast - in some cases in as little as 24 hours.

In fact, Robert G Allen is well known for his challenges. His book "The Road to Wealth" is basically the true story of what happened to 3 unemployed people from St Louis when he laid down the following challenge:

"Send me to any unemployment line. Let me select someone who is broke, out of work and discouraged. Let me teach him in two days the secrets of wealth. And in ninety days he’ll be back on his feet, with five thousand dollars cash in the bank, never to set foot in an unemployment line again."

And essentially, this book promises that if you follow the system outlined in this book that within 90 days you too can be making money and on your way to financial freedom.

This is an opportunity too good to pass on. So BOLT now and claim your FREE Seminar DVD, "Cash in a Flash™" book and lots of other fabulous bonus gifts before they're all gone. Click the link below for full details:
