Bill Bartmann: The Mindset of a Billionaire - Part 3 of 5

This is the third part of this mini-series examining some of the fundamental characteristics of a billionaire as identified by Bill Bartmann.

The third characteristic of billionaires relates to vision. So to elevate your mind to billionaire thinking:

Be Willing to Share Your Vision

Whatever you are aiming to achieve you cannot achieve it alone. You have strengths and weaknesses. For maximum effectiveness you will need to optimize your strengths and manage your weaknesses.

One way in which you can achieve the latter is by getting others to do the things you are not good at. The more passionate you are about what you want to achieve and the better you are able to articulate your vision, the more you find that people buy into your vision and support you in any way they can.

However, the only way in which you can clearly articulate your vision is by having absolute clarity about your vision. Some people are incredibly close-guarded about what they do and what they want to achieve. They are afraid of people stealing their ideas.

To be fair, this does happen at times. However, if you are truly aligned with your goals you will be drawing into your life the right people and resources to help you manifest your dreams rather than steal them.

And here's something else to consider. No one else can have the same vision as you. Your vision is unique and therefore no one can execute your vision in the same way you can. That's why there are so many people who are fundamentally spreading the same message and why so many different companies are successfully selling the same products and services. The individuals and companies have all found ways to differentiate themselves in the marketplace - to make them stand out from their competition.

However, there is another point to take into consideration here. People often worry about the competition instead of using the competition to help them excel at what they do. When you move from competitive thinking to creative thinking you move from a scarcity mentality and thinking that there is not enough to go round which is never going to empower you to achieve mega success into an abundance mentality.

Here's an example of this. Even if you've never read a Chicken Soup book you must have heard about the Chicken Soup Series. Jack Canfield shared his vision for the first Chicken Soup book with Mark Victor Hansen who actually came up with the name of the first book Chicken Soup for the Soul. By sharing his vision Jack Canfield was able to create a special partnership which has lead to the creation of hundreds of Chicken Soup titles that appeal to all ages.

However, when the duo first started out their aim was to sell a million books - not an easy quest considering the first book was turned down by 144 publishers. However, they persevered and they did achieve their initial target.

When they achieved that they expanded their goal to selling 4 million books. They ended up selling 8 million Chicken Soup books around the world. Then one day they were up to 50 million books and to date over 144 million books have been sold!

Now the pair aim to sell a billion books – talk about billionaire thinking! But it all started because Jack Canfield shared his initial vision with Mark Victor Hansen and since that time hundreds of people have bought into the Chicken Soup vision because these books are not written by Jack Canfield or Mark Victor Hansen. These books are simply compilations of other people's stories.

So what is your vision? Get very clear about what you want to achieve and work daily on refining your vision. Then identity the people and resources you will need to help you manifest your vision.

With respect to the former you don't initially have to know the name of the person but rather the skills and connections that person might have that could help you achieve your goal.

Then you'll have to develop relationships with those individuals. Find out how you can help them achieve their goals. As Zig Ziglar said:

"If you can dream it, then you can achieve it. You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want."
